Toktogul hydroelectric stations - hydropower plant on the Naryn River in Kyrgyzstan. The dam forms the Toktogul Reservoir, the largest reservoir in Central Asia. Included in the Naryn-Syrdarya cascade of hydropower plants. Build on 1962.
In Kyrgyzstan there are some paradoxes. For example they sell electricity to Kazakhstan, because the profit is bigger than selling it to Kyrgyz people, but at the same time there's a shortage of electricity inside Kyrgyzstan, and blackouts are regular.
Sary-Chelek (also Sarychelek, Kyrgyz: Сарычелек) is a mountain lake located in Sary-Chelek Nature Reserve in Jalal-Abad Province in Western Kyrgyzstan. It is north of Arkit (the park headquarters) at the eastern end of the Chatkal Range. There are a number of smaller lakes in the area. The lake’s name translates as ‘a yellow bowl’.
